• tabCapture / activeTab / tabs: To capture video and screenshots of the current browser tab. Data stays on your device.
• downloads: To save recorded video files and screenshots directly to your local device.
• storage: To save your preferences (e.g., recording interval settings) locally in the browser.
• scripting / offscreen: To enable layer-selection UI and video encoding. No data leaves your device.
• alarms: To trigger automatic saves at scheduled intervals. No external communication involved.

Permissions

All requested permissions are used exclusively to provide the extension's core functionality: tab recording and layer screenshots. No data from these permissions is stored on remote servers or shared with any third party.
